I wonder about the color of your eyes—
How it shifted and sparkled like the surface of the lake under the kiss of the sun—
As bright and beautiful and uncatchable as the light itself,
A mirage I cannot capture in the eye of my memory
Blinded as it is by the shifting sands of the hourglass
slipping
through
my fingers,
and burying all that I have left of you.
I wonder about the color of your eyes—
Forming your image in my mind as if you were standing here before me—
Your glittering pupils tracing my eyelashes
and I am melting into your gaze
drowning into your dark pools
surrounded by the color—
But then I blink…
…and I miss it.

I love this! Especially the last two lines 🙂
