It wakes in its dreams and finds itself in human form,
This is but a brief diversion from whatever it was before.
It walks on two feet and swings its flappy hands by its side.
It has a head with a face on it, and two eyes open wide.
It builds up sandcastles and stomps them back into the ground.
It eats when its hungry, drinks when it’s thirsty, and when it’s sad it frowns,
I don’t think I have ever seen it happy, it certainly never grins–
Perhaps because when it plays dice it never, ever wins.
I wish it would go back to wherever it came from and leave us all alone,
It’s terribly disconcerting the way it not-quite-humanly ambles down the road.

Brilliant!!

His has a Seussian or Silverstein feel to it. Wonderfully whimsical.
